International Air Accidents Investigation Group

The group

One standard of expertise. Every capability the mandate demands.

AeroXpert Group is an international aviation accident investigation and safety advisory group built for the moments when the stakes are highest. We help organisations prepare for, respond to and learn from aviation accidents and serious incidents.

Grounded in operational experience, advanced academic credentials and expertise recognised by courts, the Group brings together independent expert advisory, accident investigation, forensic visualisation, safety communication and specialist aviation media production.

Built for serious mandates

AeroXpert Group is structured specifically for complex assignments in which technical accuracy, evidential integrity and professional accountability are non-negotiable.

Our capabilities range from immediate post-event advisory and independent investigation support to expert evidence, forensic analysis and courtroom-ready visualisation. Government institutions, courts, legal teams, insurers and aviation organisations rely on our expertise when findings must withstand technical challenge, legal scrutiny and public attention.

In such environments, technical knowledge alone is not enough. Every conclusion must be traceable, defensible and communicated with absolute clarity. That is the standard applied across the Group.

Worldwide coordination

International group management, coordination and headquarters services are provided by AeroXpert Visuals International L.L.C-FZ, headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with European operations supported from Vienna, Austria. Services are delivered in both English and German.

The Group works across international legal, regulatory and operational frameworks. Services are delivered in both English and German, with specialist resources coordinated according to the jurisdiction, complexity and requirements of each mandate.

Confidentiality and independence

Confidentiality and independence are fundamental to every AeroXpert engagement.

Each instruction begins with an appropriate conflict-of-interest assessment and is conducted with strict professional discretion. As the Group's Principal Expert is a sworn and court-certified expert, independence is not merely a corporate policy; it is both a professional and legal obligation.

AeroXpert Group does not accept instructions from opposing parties in the same matter. Every engagement - from investigation support and expert evidence to board-level advisory - is handled with the same discipline and confidentiality, whether the matter enters the public domain or remains within a closed case file.

Our international network extends across airlines, safety investigation authorities, manufacturers and aviation specialists throughout Europe, North America, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Our track record includes advisory work for institutions such as the European Commission and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency. This website serves as a single point of entry to the AeroXpert Group, directing every enquiry promptly to the company and specialist capability best placed to respond.

Leadership

Dr. Thomas M. Friesacher, MSc

Founder and Principal Expert

AeroXpert Group is led by Dr. Thomas M. Friesacher, a former airline captain with more than 25 years of operational experience at an European major airline, an aviation accident investigator and a sworn and court-certified expert in Austria.

He holds an MSc in Safety and Accident Investigation and a PhD from Cranfield University, one of the world's leading academic institutions in aviation safety and accident investigation.

His expertise brings together flight-deck operations, investigative methodology, forensic analysis, expert evidence, safety management and high-stakes communication. He is instructed by courts, legal teams, insurers and institutional clients, and is regularly called upon by leading international media organisations when aviation events require authoritative and independent analysis.

This combination of operational judgement, scientific rigour and evidential discipline defines the professional standard applied throughout AeroXpert Group.
